Privacy Policy

Kakshalo is run by BhaskarOrg. We provide an online practice platform that schools use with their students and teachers in classes 7 to 10. This page explains, in plain words, what information we handle, why, and what choices you have. It is written with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind.
1. Who decides about student and teacher data
A school that uses Kakshalo decides which students and teachers get an account and what information is entered. For that information, the school is responsible for having the right to share it with us, including any consent needed from parents or guardians for children, and we handle it only to run Kakshalo for that school.
2. What we collect
- From schools: the school’s name, code, logo and colours; for each student or teacher, a name, a user ID (such as an admission number), their role, and class or subjects.
- When people use Kakshalo: practice answers, scores, the date and time of practice, and question papers that teachers build.
- Passwords: stored only in scrambled (“hashed”) form by our login provider. We can’t see anyone’s password.
- “Book a demo” and contact forms: your name, role, school, city, phone number, and if you give them, your email, number of students and message.
- Technical information: like any website, our hosting providers record basic details such as IP address, browser type and the time of each visit, to keep the service working and secure.
We do not ask students for phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses or photos.
3. Why we use it
- To let students practise, see their scores and unlock levels.
- To show teachers and school admins how their classes are doing, and to build question papers.
- To keep accounts secure, for example by asking everyone to set their own password at first login.
- To reply to demo requests and messages.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use students’ information for advertising, tracking across other websites, or building profiles about them for anything other than their own practice.
4. Who can see it
- Each school can only see its own data. Other schools never see it.
- Students see only their own scores. Teachers see only the classes and subjects they teach.
- We use trusted service providers to run the website: Supabase (database and logins) and Vercel (website hosting). They store and process data for us under their own security and privacy terms.
- We may share information if the law requires it, for example a valid order from a court or authority.
5. How long we keep it
We keep a school’s data while the school uses Kakshalo. When a school stops, or asks us to, we delete its students’ and teachers’ data, except anything we must keep by law. Demo requests are kept until we no longer need them to follow up, and deleted on request.
6. How we protect it
- All connections use encryption (https).
- Database rules make sure each school, teacher and student can only reach what they’re allowed to.
- Answers are checked on our servers, and scores can’t be changed from a phone or browser.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
7. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in. We don’t use advertising cookies. If we add any in future (for example, to measure our own adverts), we’ll update this page first.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information about you, or raise a complaint. Students and teachers can also ask their school, which can correct details or reset passwords straight away. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
